FDA-certified OTC hearing aids in wireless earbud form featuring Bluetooth streaming, self-fitting via iOS app, and amplification for mild to moderate hearing loss.

Description

The Jabra Enhance Plus is an FDA-certified over-the-counter hearing aid designed as discreet wireless earbuds for individuals with mild to moderate hearing loss. Launched in February 2022, it features Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity for iOS devices (iPhone 11 or newer), enabling audio streaming and hands-free calling.

The self-fitting process uses an iOS app with a hearing test that applies the NAL-NL2 prescription formula. Key specifications include directional microphones, noise reduction, feedback suppression, and an IP52 water resistance rating.

With rechargeable lithium-ion batteries offering 10 hours of use (extendable to 30 hours via the portable charging case), these lightweight earbuds (33.7g) include three Ear Gel tip sizes. Though discontinued as of October 2024, Jabra continues to honor its 1-year warranty and provide support.

I've been using these earbuds at home for watching TV on my iPad. I was using a pair of headphones before, but my wife got tired of me not being able to hear her. The streaming audio quality is OK, and now I can hear my wife when she needs me. Very comfortable and small, but I don't know how I feel about wearing them in public yet.
